Más errores frecuentes en inglés en nuestra serie ’Los errores más frecuentes en inglés’.

Todas estas frases han sido utilizados por alguno de nuestros alumnos en los cursos de inmersión en inglés para profesionales que organizamos en nuestro centro en España. Atraves de superar estos fallos, lo que llamamos oportunidades, el alumno puede mejorar la calidad de su inglés hablado.

2. I was driving and I was stopping for a while

3. My daughter the last year was in a house with two other girls.

Correcciones

1. They are doing their best to help immigrants

2. I went driving and stopped for a while from time to time.
Explicación: The past continuous indicates an action in progress, but the speaker is referring with ‘stop’ to a repeated finished action.  The mistake consists of trying to use the past continuous to indicate repetition; this has to be specified with a phrase such as from time to time.

3. Last year my daughter lived in a house with two other girls.
Explicación:  No article with ‘last year’.
‘was’ is too indefinate: what was she doing there?
