Another Great English Immersion Course!
We’ve just had a great week with some great students learning English!
Thanks to all the students who came, and thank you to the weather for a very sunny week at the end of October!
Here are two lovely photos taken by a student of the beech forest that we often go for a walk through! The colours change a lot depending on what time of year it is. Beautiful oranges in the autumn and fantastic greens in the spring and summer as shown in the photos below.

Learning a second language “slows brain ageing”
The BBC has recently posted a news article from some research from the University of Edinburgh about how learning a second language can have a positive effect on the brain, even if it’s taken up in adulthood. A great reason to start or continue learning!

Last week, we saw some amazing sights. There had been snow in the mountains earlier that week. This meant that there were some fantastic sights and opportunities for photos of the waterfalls and snow on top of the higher mountains.
We even managed to take some videos, click play below to see them!
The first video shows a waterfall which we were able to walk under! It was an amazing experience and the best part is that, it’s just a short walk from our English Immersion centre!
The second video is of a waterfall that has increased in size a lot with all the water from the snowy mountains, it even blocked our normal path!

As you can see, we also had some great dinners and even had time to make sushi in a kitchen class, all the time speaking and learning English!
Hace unos días, a finales de febrero, inauguramos nuestro curso de inglés intensivo de 6 días en 2014. ¡Después de las clases hicimos algunas excursiones por la zona preciosa que rodea la casa, todo en inglés, claro!
Había 5 alumnos haciendo un curso de inglés intensivo con clases individuales, entonces esto significaba 5 profesores nativos de inglés también; 2 ingleses, un americano, un gales e incluso uno de Guernesey!
Así los profesionales que participaban en los cursos de inglés intensivo lo pasaron bien practicando y aprendiendo de personas con diversos acentos y había muchas historias (algunos verdaderos otros más dudosos) de sus hogares, costumbres y culturas.
